AMS - Gematronik - Catching Storms in the Mediterranean Sea
The 6th Plinius Conference on Mediterranean Storms was held from 17th to 24th October 2004 cruising the Mediterranean Sea on board the ship MSC Opera.
The objective of this year's conference was to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of the present state of knowledge on Mediterranean storms, considering their meteorological, hydrological and geological aspects and their effects on mountain and hill slopes, river networks and coastal areas. The consortium AMS - Gematronik and Datamat supported the conference as a sponsor.
The 4th Session of the Hydrological Radar School has been organized joined to the conference. Lectures on "Management and Exploitation of Advanced Radar Networks" have been given by Prof. V. Chandrasekar (CSU-Chill, USA), Prof. J. Testud (Novimet, France), Dr. J. Joss (MeteoSwiss, CH) and L. Wörhoff (AMS - Gematronik) and E. Guerriero (Datamat).
