Gematronik Workshop on Signal Processing

The "Workshop on Advanced Weather Radar Signal Processing and Dual Polarization" was held at our factory in Neuss (13th - 15th September 2005) by Prof. V.N. Bringi (Colorado State University, USA) and Prof. V. Chandrasekar (Colorado State University, USA).

Over 50 participants from 20 different countries met at the AMS - Gematronik factory and the Holiday Inn Hotel in Neuss. In the final discussions moderated by all speakers the philosophy and the practical use of Radar Signal Processing and Dual Polarization was emphasized. On the second day's workshop the chance was given to all participants to have a closer look into the "heart" of the company AMS-Gematronik. AMS - Gematronik presented its new digital receiver and signal processor GDRX, the state-of-the-art signal processor available on the market today.

At the end of the workshop, the participants as well as the referents came a way expressing their belief in the success of this highly sophisticated event.

For 2006, we plan to hold a workshop on "Weather Radar and Sensor Networks" especially covering topics as sensor fusion, integrated data management, etc." We look forward to meeting you here at the next workshop.
