Successful Workshop “Weather Radar Clutter Over Sea and Land”, on 29th September – 1st October 2009 at Pisa, Italy

Meteorologists, hydrologists, forecasters and radar specialists of all continents decided again in great number to participate in the 9th SELEX-Gematronik workshop.

In a break with tradition the workshop was held in Pisa, Italy rather than SELEXGematronik's facilities in Germany.

The highlight of the workshop was a full day trip to Mt. Crocione (1100m) at Tuscany valley, a radar site with a dual polarization radar 650C from DPC. Our field trip included a lessons learned session involving experts from DCP, who shared personal experiences about site construction, installation processes and every day operation.

Another program topic was the demonstration of SELEX-Gematronik mobile dual polarization radar system METEOR 50DX.

Excellent speakers, a good choice of topics, discussions and mix of presentation styles made the workshop fruitful and attractive.
