Workshop on Advanced Weather Radars and Sensors for Aviation Weather Surveillance was a great success

The "Workshop on Aviation Meteorology" was held at our factory in Neuss (22nd - 24th June 2004) by Prof. Gaspare Galati (University Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy), Dr. Martin Hagen (DLR, Germany), Iwan Holleman (KNMI, Netherlands) and Prof. Pravas Mahapatra (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India).

Over 40 participants from 5 different continents met at the AMS - Gematronik factory and the Dorint Hotel in Neuss. In-depth discussions covered the use of Doppler Weather Radar data for terminal and en-route application. At the end of the 2.5 days workshop, the participants as well as the referents came away expressing their belief in the success of the event. We thank you for your participation!

The responsible AMS - Gematronik Marketing Manager, Gabriele Kadner, says: "The remarkable response of the weather radar community shows us that there is large demand for high level radar meteorological training. For 2005, we plan to hold a workshop on weather radar and sensor networks especially covering topics as sensor fusion, integrated data management, etc."
