AMS - Gematronik signed a contract with the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO)

AMS - Gematronik signed a contract with the Icelandic Meteorological Office for the modernization for the radar data processing system of an existing Ericsson weather radar.

Under this contract AMS - Gematronik will supply the radar data processing system Rainbow® including a huge number of sophisticated radar products. Additionally the distribution and display of radar products will be modernized using the AMS - Gematronik Web-based system MeteoWeb Server®.

After the installation of this upgrade in spring 2004 the IMO will have a data processing and display system that meets highly advance requirements and that allows flexible data exchange/transfer with / to other Meteorological Services.

An identical upgrade has been installed in November 2003 at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (DNMI) in order to replace and modernize their existing Ericsson weather radar.
