First AMS - Gematronik Doppler Weather Radar for Basque Country

AMS - Gematronik has recently been awarded a contract to supply one C-Band klystron radar for the Basque Government in Vitoria.

The system to be installed in 2004 will feature the latest weather radar technology currently available in the market, such as dual polarization and phase coding. The dual polarization option will contribute to significantly improve rainfall estimates, while the phase coding allows doubling the velocity range. The system will be the most modern radar operational in Europe, and it will be used for Nowcasting and Hydrological Forecasting.
