GEMATRONIK Extends METEO FRANCE Weather Radar Network

GEMATRONIK is pleased to announce that METEO FRANCE awarded GEMATRONIK a contract to supply 8 Doppler weather radars to enlarge their countrywide radar network.

GEMATRONIK will supply one METEOR 500C Dual Polarization weather radar, the other 7 magnetron-based C-Band radars will be prepared for future Dual Polarization upgrades. Deliveries will take place over the next four years.

The responsible GEMATRONIK International Sales Manager, Christel Niewöhner, says: "This project is a major achievement for us in the European market. The purpose of the project in France is to improve precipitation measurements for meteorological and hydrological application. Amongst others the weather radar data are applied in hydrological and weather forecasts for public safety and aviation. GEMATRONIK has won this contract against strong domestic and international competitors in the weather radar market".
