KNMI Contract for upgrade of two METEOR 360AC Weather Radar Systems awarded to SELEX-Gematronik

SELEX-Gematronik has been awarded a contract for the upgrade of two (2) METEOR 360AC weather radar systems by KNMI of the Netherlands.

Under the contract, SELEX-Gematronik provides its cutting-edge GDRX® signal processing system together with Rainbow® 5, the most advanced and user-friendly sensor management system available on the market. KNMI awarded the tender to SELEX-Gematronik, after having extensively tested several products available on the market.

The award of the tender underlines SELEX-Gematronik's technology leadership both in meteorological radar hardware and in software.

Profile of KNMI:
KNMI is the national meteorological institute of the Netherlands, employing some 500 people. The KNMI operates two Doppler Radars built by SELEX-Gematronik, one in De Bilt and one in Den Helder, which are used for measurement of precipitation over The Netherlands and the surrounding area.
