Korea selects SELEX for Supply of High-End Dual Pol Weather Radar System
SELEX Sistemi Integrati GmbH is proud to announce the award of a contract for the supply of a state-of-the-art weather radar system for hydrological applications to the Korean River Information Center, reporting to the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.
The contract comprises the supply of one dual-polarized, klystron-based METEOR 1600S weather radar system including SELEX’s proprietary Rainbow® 5 product generation software.
The system will be installed and operated at Mt. Mohu in southwest Korea and is primarily designed to provide high-accuracy and high-reliability data for precipitation measurements in the sub-catchment areas of YoungSan River and SeomJin River. For an envisaged future expansion of tasks, the METEOR 1600S may easily be upgraded due to the proven modular concept inherent in SELEX’s radar systems.
The present contract award underpins SELEX’s reputation as a worldwide leading supplier for future-oriented hydrometeorological solutions and products. We are looking forward to providing our support to the Korean River Information Center in a very interesting and demanding hydrological project.
