Upgrades for KNMI-Netherlands and CHMI-Czech Republic

Selex-Gematronik received order for upgrading 2 METEOR 360 Doppler Weather Radar Systems in the Netherlands, successfully in operation by KNMI since 1996/1998 and at the same time Selex-Gematronik received order for upgrading 1 METEOR 360 Doppler Weather Radar Systems of Czech Republik, successfully in operation by CHMI since 1995.

All upgrades apply to the receiver, radar control processor, signal processing path and evaluation software. Most modern MMIC receiver components and GDRX digital signal processing as well as latest generation Rainbow 5 evaluation software and RAVIS radar software will replace the obsolete low level building block components inside the receiver and the RVP6 signal processor as well as the control processors.

The intension of the upgrade kit is to extend the life time of the proven METEOR 360 Doppler Weather Radar System by implementation of most modern components, also used with SELEX-Gematronik latest generation radar systems to the entire satisfaction of our METEOR 360 customers.

The installation and taking into operation of the upgrade kits is scheduled to be finalized within the next months.
