The upgrade of an operational weather radar system is an economically attractive way of extending the system lifecycle and increasing system performance at the same time.

Based on its long-standing experience in weather radar technology SELEX-Gematronik performs upgrades in C-Band, S-Band and X-Band for magnetron as well as klystron radars.

All upgrades performed by SELEX-Gematronik fulfil the latest European health and safety regulations and enable the radar users to participate in the technical progress available today without replacing their installed base of radar systems.

Depending on the existing systems the following upgrade packages are offered:

For METEOR 500:
Dual Polarization Upgrade (Antenna, Radome, Software)
Receiver over Elevation Upgrade (GDRX, RCP, Waveguides with Rotary Joints, Data Transmission)

For METEOR 360:
Antenna Refurbishment, Transmitter Upgrade (Magnetron or Solid State Switch),
RCP Upgrade, Receiver Upgrade (GDRX)
